If you prefer steam power, stop by the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad for a very special steam-power journey. You will ride over the last remaining segment of the original 1913 Western Maryland Railway right-of-way crossing the Allegheny Mountains. Your 32-mile, round-trip, complete with 1.5% grades and awesome vistas, begins right across the street at the Western Maryland Railway Station at Canal Place.
